Introduction
The Open University is conducting a study involving South Asian Young Adult Carers (women and men) to explore their transitions to adulthood. The study is called: Mera future ko kya? and the short title is SATTA (South Asian young adult carers Transitions to Adulthood) Study.
What is the study about?
We want to hear about your experiences of being assessed (e.g. about planning for your future) and getting support and how this helps you as you become an adult. For example, we will ask you to take part in two interviews with Amna (the Research Assistant).
We want to know if being South Asian (woman or man) makes a difference to the help you need, for example, to go to college or get a job.
We will use the information that you and other carers give us to improve the support available for South Asian young adult carers (e.g. we will create a support pathway designed for this group).
Why am I being asked to take part?
We are asking you because you are a South Asian young adult carer (16 to under 25 years) registered with the young adult carers service. We will provide a £15 gift voucher for each interview, as a thank you for taking part in the study.
