Sutton Coldfield businesses are being encouraged to sign up for the forthcoming YMCA Sleep Easy event.

The event, organised by YMCA Sutton Coldfield, aims to highlight youth homelessness and raise vital funds to help support the charity’s work with vulnerable young people.

The sleepout will take place on Friday 26 March, with Sutton Coldfield residents raising money by giving up their beds and sleeping out so others don’t have to.

3D Facilities is the first Sutton Coldfield firm to sign up for the event and others are being urged to follow suit.

Fundraising manager of the YMCA Sutton Coldfield, Sarah Sylvester, said:

“This year we’ll be running our sleepout event differently and giving people the option of sleeping out at home or Sofa Surfing.

“We’re keen to encourage people to be as creative as possible. You can spend the night in your shed, garage, garden, in a cardboard box in your kitchen or sofa surf, basically anywhere that’s not your bed.

“Wherever you choose to sleep you’ll be able to you make a really big difference to young people’s lives locally.”

“We are especially keen to welcome local businesses to sign up and support their community and delighted that 3D Facilities are the first Sutton business to join this year’s event.”

Neil Davis, managing director of 3D Facilities, said:

“We are proud to be supporting a local charity YMCA Sutton Coldfield, helping them to reach their fundraising target and raising awareness of homelessness.

“We encourage as many people as possible to participate in their Sleep Easy event and to donate to this great cause.”
