A new fundraising and development manager has been appointed to develop fundraising for YMCA Sutton Coldfield.
Sarah Sylvester joined the YMCA from the University of York, where she held a number of fundraising roles over 14 years, most recently heading up the individual giving team.
Sarah said:
“I am excited to be working with the YMCA as I am passionate about wanting to support vulnerable young people and children. In my first few weeks I have met our teams working with young carers, disabled children and youth projects and been able to see the fantastic difference that YMCA makes to young people’s lives, especially currently during the covid situation.
“The support that YMCA receive as Sutton Chamber Charity of the Year is invaluable in helping fundraise for our activities. I’ve been impressed to learn about the ways Sutton Coldfield businesses have taken the YMCA partnership to heart and have sponsored events, taken part in our Sleep Easy to highlight homelessness and donated to help our housing residents. I look forward to building on these strong relationships and meeting with Chambers members.”
Clive Yates, CEO of Sutton Coldfield YMCA, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Sarah to the YMCA. She has a wealth of experience and I am sure will play a key role in helping YMCA develop and fund our activities in the period ahead.”
