Why Teens Podcast
Every young person should have their voice heard
Why Teens podcast, developed and recorded by young people, is available on all major streaming platforms and listened to in over 15 countries around the world

A podcast by teens, for teens
Young people in our area, specifically young carers, needed to have their voices heard.
So, working with them, we created a safe space where young people can discuss issues, share advice and let other young carers know that they are not alone.
Nikai, Aoife and Dan, and other young people, plan, record, edit and publish each episode with our help. They have attended training to improve their hosting, podcasting and editing skills, and passed this knowledge along to younger members of the group who they’ve invited on as guest hosts.
With over 20 episodes broadcast, the podcast gives young people:

the opportunity to talk about issues that directly affect their lives

a voice and platform to share their views around the world
Why Teens was a finalist in the Youth Project of the Year category at the Inspirational Youth Awards 2024. This was a huge achievement and all credit for the nomination goes to the young people involved in this project.
