Birmingham Pride 2026

We Marched at Birmingham Pride 2026 – Because Inclusion Is at the Heart of Everything We Do πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Celebrating Pride, Community, and Belonging in Birmingham

This year, YMCA Sutton Coldfield once again took to the streets of Birmingham to march in the Birmingham Pride Festival 2026. The sun was shining, the streets were filled with colour and music, and the atmosphere was electric with joy, acceptance, and community spirit. For our team, marching in Birmingham Pride isn’t just a highlight of the summer calendar, it’s a statement of who we are and what we stand for.

As a charity deeply rooted in the Sutton Coldfield and wider Birmingham community, we believe that every person, regardless of their background, identity, orientation, ethnicity, or circumstance, deserves to feel safe, supported, and celebrated. Pride gives us the opportunity to put that belief into action in a very visible, very joyful way.

A Tradition of Support: YMCA Sutton Coldfield at Pride

Year after year, YMCA Sutton Coldfield shows up at Birmingham Pride because our commitment to the LGBTQ+ community isn’t seasonal, it’s ongoing. Marching in the parade is one of the most visible ways we can stand alongside LGBTQ+ young people, adults, and families.

For many of the young people and adults we work with, knowing that the organisations in their lives are genuinely affirming, not just in policy, but in practice, makes a real difference. When they see their YMCA marching proudly through the streets of Birmingham, waving banners and wearing their rainbow colours, that sends a powerful message. It tells them that their identity is not just tolerated, but celebrated.

We are proud to have made Pride a consistent part of our calendar, and we look forward to continuing to march, support, and advocate for LGBTQ+ inclusion in our community for years to come.

Thank You to Our Amazing Sponsors and Partners

Events like this don’t happen without a little help, and we are incredibly grateful to our sponsors Essity for making it possible for YMCA Sutton Coldfield to participate in the Birmingham Pride parade this year. Their support meant we could march with pride, quite literally, and represent our community on one of Birmingham’s biggest and most celebrated days of the year.

Our brilliant t-shirts and banner were printed by the talented local team at Ink Tree, and we couldn’t have been happier with how they turned out.

To both Essity and Ink Tree, thank you. You helped make 2026’s Pride march one to remember.

Inclusive services

We work with some of the most vulnerable people in our community, young people facing housing instability, adults with disabilities, young adult carers, individuals experiencing mental health challenges, and many others navigating difficult circumstances. What all these people have in common is that they deserve compassion, dignity, and a safe space to be themselves. That is exactly what YMCA Sutton Coldfield strives to provide every single day.

Our inclusive approach isn’t just about who walks through our doors, it’s also about the environment they step into. We work hard to ensure our spaces are welcoming, our staff are trained, and our culture reflects the diverse community we serve. Everyone is welcome at YMCA Sutton Coldfield.
