Message from our Chair:
With the continued impact of the COVID-19 outbreak being felt by businesses around the world, we are writing to update you on the current status of our key projects in line with the government’s latest announcement.
Children’s Services & Disability Groups
As you may be aware, schools in the UK have been running and current government plan is for them to continue to stay open as much as possible. In line with the government advice and instruction, we will be reviewing our holiday provisions to see if we can operate safely and within government guidelines for the February break (planned for 15th-19th February 2021)
YMCA Sutton Coldfield’s disability programmes have also been affected. Whilst we are an independent provider, we are still restricted by government guidelines. We continue to look at ways we can operate within these guidelines to help support young people and their families. We will continue to operate a reduced provision until a time when we can revert back to full provisions.
Some of our youth projects continue to operate via social media or in small support groups (bubbles), for which participants will be contacted directly. Detached sessions continue.
Our accommodation facility continues to support young people in need and applicants still have to go through an interview process.
Our work stretches across every aspect of the community and throughout people’s lives and whilst we continue to support local people whom are less fortunate than us, we need the local community to continue giving their financial support through these very difficult times.
Under the current COVID-19 situation we are operating on a lower staffing level, however our offices remain open Monday-Friday 9:00-17:00hrs.
Please stay safe.
